ATA Investment Guidelines

  • ATA members invest in technology companies located in Atlanta, GA.
  • ATA members will invest between $250,000 and $1,000,000 in an individual company.
  • ATA members will continue to participate pro-rata in future investments.
  • ATA members generally invest in pre-Series A and Series A financings. Generally, this is after the founders of a company have invested and after a "friends and family" round. ATA does not invest in service or consulting companies. We also do not invest in recapitalization or reverse mergers.
  • ATA expects to have a Board of Directors seat or an observer role on the Board of Directors, post investment.
  • ATA expects superior financial returns on each individual investment.

ATA Screening Criteria

The Atlanta Technology Angels (ATA) Screening Committee meets twice monthly to evaluate investment opportunities in companies which their business plans have been reviewed by the committee. Each company presents to the committee for 30-45 minutes. Following this meeting, the selected companies will present to the entire ATA group.

The entire ATA group meets formally once a month to visit with and evaluate these selected companies. If the investment interest in a company is high, the company and ATA will move into the due diligence, which may facilitate an investment in the company. ATA, as a group will invest between $250,000 and $1,000,000 in any one selected company.
